Republican Idiot

Touching on Islamophobia and what the rest of the world thinks of Muslims, i would like to point out a recently made statement one of the Republican Party’s presidential hopeful; a certain colorado congressman by the name of Tom Tancredo.

When asked on how he thinks the USA would best deter a nuclear attack on home soil, he suggested that the USA bomb the Muslim holy cities of Makkah ( not Mecca) and Madinah Al- Munawwarah. See article here.

I mean, if it somebody suggested that we blow up the Vatican to resolve the IRA crisis, or blow up Varanasi, the Hindu Holy City to quell the Hindu Tamil Tiger rebellion against the  Buddhist Sinhalese of Sri Lanka, then the world would be in uproar.

But do it to the Muslims, well the news gets relegated to the back pages of the newspaper. Quite shocking dont you think.

Somehow i get the feeling that the world, especially the US is looking at Muslims ( all 1.5 billion of us in the world) based on the actions of a few extremist idiots.

Now we would want to stereotype but surely by using this demented logic then we would always have some generalisation of people based on a few extremist bad seeds ( the KKK in the USA, the BNP in the UK, the BJP or Bharrat United in India).

The funny thing is, this guy  Tom Tancredo actually thought he’d make a good US president?!!!

I am cynically laughing and crying at the same time !

If the KKK snuck in to Malaysia, took flying lessons (or rather take-off lessons), ate your food, enjoyed your hospitality, and the flew jets into buildings killing 3000 muslims in the most horrific way, I hope you wouldn’t be too upset. If the rest of the non-muslim world then took the the streets dancing in celebration, I would hope you wouln’t hold that against us. The difference here is that the KKK is not supported by anyone other than a few thousand mostly harmless blow hards. Muslims are 3 billion strong, and as far as I can tell, most either support or at least have no problems with what the radicals are doing. If muslims worldwide don’t do something to stop the radicals, they will eventually meet with the same fate as the radicals they support. So, please quit crying foul. It rings hollow.

P.S. – Tancredo is an idiot, you had that right.

    Steve,

    thanks for the comment.

Your comment exactly reflect what i cant say in words.

the perception you have of muslims is that most of us condone this sort of thing.

this is what is being played or highlighted in the media i.e whenever there is a terrorist attack somewhere perpetrated by muslim terrorists, you will always see the media showing clips of muslims out on the streets (in pakistan/afghanistan/iraq/palestine) chanting or rejoycing on these acts of terrorism.

what they dont let you see is the whole picture, where just behind the focus of the camera (i.e behind all these demonstrations on the streets etc that the media really like to concentrate on) are all the people who just want get on with their everyday lives trying to live a peaceful existence.

Most of the places where you see people supporting terrorism, although a majority are flash point ares where conflict and death is the everyday norm.

and you and i cannot really say we can understand them or how they think or why they support such terrorism and act of barbaric violence because we do not live in a situation where we fear for our lives on a daily basis.

These demonstrators probably number a few hundred people but the media saw fit to say that they represent about a billion muslims.

My point is you cannot stereotype muslims as such, as that would be just too shallow.

Islam is a peaceful religion. Islam is submission to one God. The God is Allah. Allah is the Great. There are not a single electron in this massive universe exist without the knowledge of Allah. Now who can deny such a deity power. Allah will protect this religion from the dirty hands of man. Allah will give victory to Islam. One day all the muslimins will be victorious. Unity is the key. One day i hope, a Nouridden Zinki or Salahuddin al Ayyoubi will be born again. Insya Allah.
